I'm making my off Broadway debut! It's been an incredible time being part of Dimo Kim Musical Theatre Factory's revival of Comfort Women: A New Musical. This show is about the Comfort Women during WWII. These women were tricked in sex slavery and meant to give "comfort" to the Japanese Imperial Army. My character, Mr. Komino, is the man that tricks them. Similar the Engineer in Miss Saigon, Mr. Komino is the capitalist force of the show--the only one profiting from destruction.
I can't believe we open in less than a week! This is my second time understudying, and I love it! The show looks incredible and I am very lucky to be surrounded by such caring artists. D.C. is treating me well!
Wow. I'm a graduate! I can't believe it. I was able to get up to NYC the night before my senior showcase and I was able to be plugged in no problem. I sang "beautiful city" and I had an incredible time. The song's message for me is quite special. My little sister Ellie is about to go to high school..and with what happened in Parkland and what happened in Houston just the other day--we've got to do something about this. I need my sister to feel safe in her school. No fourteen year old should have to deal with the threat of gun violence. "Beautiful City" to me is that rallying cry. We can build it. Yes we can...yes we can!
